Take me out to the ballgame

Yesterday was a beautiful day for softball as county rivals Mooresville and Martinsville squared off on the diamond. And I was there in the visitor’s dugout covering the game for both newspapers.

The Pioneers were gracious enough to let me into the visitor’s dugout to photograph the game from the first base line. Normally, that is the prime spot as right-handed batters will be facing me when at the plate. However, both of these teams have a fair share of lefties so about half of the batters in the game had their back to me.

Batter up!
Batter up!

But there was plenty of on-field action for my lens to capture from that vantage point. I’m pleased to share a few of those images with you.

Be sure to pick up a copy of either today’s Martinsville Reporter-Times or Saturday’s Mooresville-Decatur Times for my coverage of the softball game.
